Wow... could this day have been any better?

I don't think so! However it started off on a sour note as I had to call the dragon lady and find out what she wanted from me, so I guess I will have another meeting with her tomorrow and  discuss my options lol I thought we had this conversation a few months ago. My outlook and plans are still the same and well nothing from my side has changed, so why meet again....if you want to get rid of me just say so.... and really looking forward is so much better than looking inwards or to September right now lol.
After that annoying phone call I set out to my day at the DSC. On the way there I received a text message from my daughter that just made me smile, they went to the Gaeubodenfest today, which is after Oktoberfest the next biggest Volksfest. She was sitting in a beer tent with a litre of Radler( a mixture of beer and lime pop) and was having a great ole time, apparently she drank half of it. I wonder why we Bavarians are not all alcoholics, because we literally grow up on that stuff lol. So that made me smile, because I can just see her face.
The DSC was busy today, it is the first whole day of the Donkey Holiday, that lasts for three days, the guest that arrived came as far as Alberta and Pennsylvania and as close as Toronto, but what a nice three day get away. They arrived yesterday evening and are staying in a hotel in Guelph, last night was a "Wine and Cheese" greeting at the hotel, this morning after breakfast they came for a visit to the DSC, where they learnt more about the DSC and were instructed on how and then arranged in pairs to groom a donkey. I had two lovely older ladies in my group and they most definitely enjoyed their time brushing the donkeys and learning all about Ms Jenners, who was thankfully most cooperative with getting dual brushing while I rubbed her butt. After the hard work of grooming the donkeys, they had a chance to go shopping in the boutique and things just flew of the shelves. Lots of future Christmas presents and souvenirs for left behind family were bought. It worked great as I was doing boutique while Ruth helped with the locating of things and finding right sizes. After that exhausting shopping trip it was time for lunch which was served in a lovely setting in the Pady's side lawn, it was really nice, lots of chatting going on and definitely a nice crowd and all very much mingling with each other and staff. After lunch they were picked up by their car service as they took a road trip to one of our Foster Farms. Tonight on the program is a nice visit to a local restaurant with  some of the staff members and one of our longtime volunteers. So that should be nice to have pretty much access to all kind of people involved with the DSC, from Barn staff, to office staff and volunteers.  Hopefully they will all have had an enjoyable day.
What made my day most enjoyable today, besides being a part of the morning activities was my first donkey walk. Cheryl with Donkeschoen, Ruth with Johnny and I walked with Orly, it was so much fun and all three of them were great walkers, we walked around the pond, through the brush and then on the Apple Tree Hill trail. It was most enjoyable and I can't wait to do it again. Orly was such a good walker, well except she kept hogging the path and made me walk in the grass.  Only hard part was not to let them graze as they are all on a weight program and the walk is for exercise only not a walking buffet, but we managed pretty well and afterwards we were all pretty tuckered out. It's funny how they pick up speed when you walk down a hill with them, at one point Cheryl who walked with Donkeschoen, a fairly large donkey, she made us stand of to the side so we wouldn't be in her way when she came down with Donkeschoen, it was hilarious. It is amazing how strong these animals are and how hard it can be sometimes to get a good handle on them.
After that nice little walk it was time to go do some work and at four I headed home. It really was a rough day at the office today.
To bring this entry to a full circle....this quote seems fitting as I was also asked somewhere else what I would like to do in the future...hmmmm...doesn't seem to be that hard to figure out. :)
