Not quite as planned

Well today's day didn't go quite as I had it planned, but it was nevertheless a good day. My plan was to go up the the DSC and spend some time with Donkeschoen. Donkeschoen is one of my sponsored donkeys and as of lately she seem to have been really depressed and stays by herself most of the time, standing for hours in the same spot, in the blazing sun without moving or interacting with anybody. Donkeyschoen was strongly bonded with a donkey named Lady, when Donkeschoen developed reoccurring hoof problems she was brought into the barn yard and therefore separated from her friend Lady. Lady being in a different paddock than her friend bonded with another donkey in the meantime, and when Donkeschoen was well enough to get back into their common paddock, Lady kind of gave her the cold shoulder and hasn't bothered with her since. Donkeschoen seems really taking it hard, not having any interest in the other donkeys until you lead her to them. Maybe she is just playing shy, I don't know, but it bothers me that she stands on her own for hours and I thought maybe if she gets enough attention she might feel a little better, so I was planning on doing so today. But like I said the day went different than I had intended and the in-laws came up to visit and have lunch with their granddaughter, and since I would have been home alone I was invited to tag along. So we had a nice quite visit first here and then went out to lunch in one of our favourite restaurants. It was actually really nice, I haven't had a chance to spend much time with them in the last little while. Even though they came to Pookie's High school grad I didn't even see or talked to them that night. So I haven't really seen them since they were here at Christmas last year, it was nice to catch up with them.
I definitely will spend some time with Donkeschoen on Sunday on Open Day, I might just place myself on duty right in the paddock by the fence and hopefully she will stand with me and get some love and attention from visitors too. Looks like she needs to get a little extra attention, my sweet donkey!

Poor Donkeschoen..... same old story, girl finds girl, girl loses girl, girl finds another girl, first girl looks for girl, oh, heck, you know what I am saying. I hope you get to spend some quality time with her tomorrow!

I'm glad that people are paying attention to her. I'm sure it will help. Be sure to tell us about what happened when you saw her.
