Something new!

Once again I will venture out of my comfort zone today, not to the extend of the "Welcome Centre" but again something new to me and that again is the cause for some anxiety, but at least I am taking another leap, also in the hope that one day, all these new thing won't be such a stressor for me. So we will see what happens today...today is Volunteer training and information session at the DSC for Donkey Day. Since I have only been to DONKEY DAY as a visitor, I am not at all sure where my place will be and what role I will have to take, preferable something on the sidelines or behind the scene so to speak. I don't care what it is as long it is "safe" and manageable for me. I know there will be a lot of people there today, well over a hundred, most of them only come out for DONKEY DAY and/or play other roles in the net of the DSC that do not involve the direct care of the animals. It's amazing to see how many volunteers the DSC actually has, and not all of them are there to interact and care for the animals, some come to clean the Tack room, some come to get the carrots ready for the carrot walk, some are there to write articles for the news letter etc, there are so many little things that need to be done, that are just never seen by the outside or even by some of us volunteers. Everything gets done and everybody has their own little niche of what their volunteer job is and what they decided to contribute and it all makes the amazing experience of the DSC.
So of to training it will be in a little while and you know what? The sun is actually shining even though it's still a little bit chilly, but who is complaining...enjoy your Saturday!
