Gone!

Our sweet little Poppy couldn't stay, but the times we shared will be in my heart and mind forever.  My dad would have loved her, he loved Minis the most of all the donkeys, and she sure was the cutest little donkey I have ever seen. My favourite memory with her is sharing my left over lunch ( apples) with her in the lane way on the bench.

She will be sorely missed by her mom Pansy and her best friend Sable. For Sable, I only hope that Pansy will be around for a long long time, Sable is in such a panic every time Poppy and Pansy are out of sight, as long as she has Pansy she will be ok.

Rest in Peace sweet little one! You might be gone but you will never be forgotten.
This picure was taken last summer when we slaved for the donkeys stacking hay on a hot summer day, while they just laid around and soaked up the sunshine. Awww what a life....here the humans work...not the animals..:)

That is so sad, poor little Poppy. It must hurt so bad when you have to write about their passing.

in all honesty Sharon right now I am just numb, usually it takes a few weeks to really set in. There is always something else going on with another animal that it is hard to not worry about them while you grief for another. Oddly too, you loose one, you gain one the very next day, not getting attached to her yet, as her prognosis isn't great, too many years of neglect have affected her whole body position, so we will see if fixing her feet will help, but usually in cases like this it's just too painful for them to go on. So poor little Maddie might not be around too long. Keeping our fingers crossed that we can make a difference.

I am so very sorry that Poppy had to leave. Donkeys should never be alone so it's good that you have at least 2 still with you. When we are keepers of the animals here, we accept the joy with the sadness. You did the best you could. Hugs to you.
