Sending healing thoughts and prayers

Besides having an amazing time with the donkeys around  day in and day out, there are always the days of worries and fears that something might happen to one of our sweet creatures. Donkeys being the way they are, by the time they display any kind of symptoms or show any kind of pain, a lot of times something  can  have turned into something too late to be cured or turned very serious. Donkeys are such stoic animals. Today our sweet little Poppy, one of the cutest donkeys on the farm, was rushed to the OVC with suspected symptoms of colic. Again by the time donkeys show symptoms it can be a very serious ailment and colic in itself is a serious thing for any equine and often results in death. As of now Poppy has made it through the surgery ok and hopefully will recover fully and without complications, but again with a donkey that is not a given, just take our poor sweet Chiclet. One just never knows....sending healing thoughts and prayers Poppy's way. We can't just loose another one of our sweet ones.

I hate, hate, hate colic. Miserable, evil disease. I will certainly send healing thoughts to little Poppy that she beats the monster.

It sure is Louise, she came through surgery ok, but still is not out of the woods, we keep our fingers crossed, but it doesn't look good. Can't even imagine the DSC without POPPY.

I hope Poppy gets well really soon. It is so difficult to tell with animals, most of them are certainly no whinnies. Sending positive thoughts Poppy's way.

I am sorry your sweet donkey is fighting for her life. My boys (Harry and Gunny) and I send our best wishes for her recovery.
