Work, work, work, donkeys, donkeys donkeys or "ME in my Happy Place"

Ok this is how a balanced work day should be....you work for a little bit, you hug a donkey, you work a little bit more, you hug a donkey, on to do some more work and you hug a donkey again. I am so envious of those who work there full time, I probably would get fired really quick as I can get side tracked there really easily too. Yesterday after work I drove up to the DSC to work some more on my Grooming log project. First thing on my agenda there was to get some info from Chantel about some of the donkeys physical identification marks, not that I not know them, but just to make sure that I won't forget anything, and to gather some notes on their behavioural tendencies. Then it was out to the field to take a few pictures of certain donkeys. I met a new volunteer out there and we chatted a little bit about the donkeys, she had lots of questions and I was happy to answer them. After getting all the pics taken that I needed for the day I made my way to the office. As soon as I walked in, I saw it....a big 5x7 pictures of me in a frame on the volunteer desk, and I am thinking "what the heck" and "omg what is this doing here?". Well apparently it was a little gift to me from Sandra. It's a picture of me in the boutique door taken by our volunteer photographer/retired wedding photographer Kathey on a Wednesday afternoon. How nice was that. It's a great picture of me in my "Happy Place".
With that picture starring at me all afternoon I worked on my "A'" donkeys and finished them all up and got to print them out and off down to the barn I went to put them in the binder. In the barn I got a little bit sidetracked by Orly, who was in a very cuddly mood today. So I couldn't just leave and not spend some time with her. Of course having something foreign like paper in my hand sparks all kind of curiosity with some of the donkeys and they had to check out what I got. See what I mean by getting sidetracked...my purpose was just to post those few sheets, not more than a two minute job, but I was gone for at least 20 minutes. I went back to the office and started on the "B" and "C" donkeys. While browsing in the oodles of "C"donkey pictures I came across some pictures of Chiclet on his first day at the DSC, he was all about 6 months old, with hooves fiercely overgrown, this ears where already broken off, and his little white face was covered with bare patches of sunburn. But omg was he cute. He still is a cutie and one of the favourite donkeys at the DSC. Of course checking out Chiclet  got me thinking of his little buddy Paco, who has a deformed jaw, and I saw his baby picture, and he was a sweetie too and still is. Oh all the wonderful donkey pictures, I can get so lost in there.
