In my 'Setzkasten'

When I was a teenager there was a trend of having a "Setzkasten" to display all your little knick knacks. Originally a "Setzkasten" was used to store moveable letters ( types) for letterpress printing. When I moved to Canada that was one of my few things I brought with me, because I just loved it. Over the years some of the knick knack items have changed, but a few are still from way back then, items I got from my grandparents, like the orange elephants or the little chipmunks. Items my parents brought back from their travels, like the little blue bottle from Vienna or the plaque from Greece. And of course some of the animals I love, like donkeys, cats and koalas. Garfield is in there because he is my all time favourite cartoon character. Even so it's also a big dust collector, I can not part with it.

I've been looking for one of those, I have a collection of tiny mouses, meece, whatever. Have you any idea where I might find one that doesn't cost a month's pension. I never knew they were called Setzkasten. I love your collection.

I see a common theme in your collection! Animals!!! You wouldn't happen to be an animal lover now would ya'! :)
By the way, I love your collection.

OMG, I wonder where my Dala horse is? Seeing one made me remember that I HAD one, somewhere! You have a great looking collection there!
