Walking Challenge!

The Wellness Committee of the City has challenged all City employees to form a team of six to participate in a six week long walking challenge. I decided that it can't hurt to participate and asked some of my co -workers if they would like to form a team from our workplace. The first five were on board rather quickly and it was a little bit of a chore to gather up number six, but in the end it all worked out and we had a team to register by last friday, we are DOUG'S  DIVAS. Today is the first day of the challenge, everybody is equipped with a pedometer and has to record daily steps taken for a week total  that has to be emailed to the team captain who then relates the numbers to the organizer and then get posted on the City Webpage, I guess a little competition is never a bad thing and it hopefully keeps us motivated to do our best and clock in as many steps a day as possible. Well it's almost bedtime for me so that will be the end of my counting for the day. Hope everybody has a good night!

That walking challenge sounds like a very good idea. People who exercise are healthier and happier and there is less absenteeism in the workplace.

What a good idea, not only for the exercise, but for the motivation to take long walks and really see what is around you.
