Saturday activities ( Brentwood part 2)

Saturday morning I got up shortly after six o'clock and was out for a stroll on the beach by 6:45 am. It was already nice and sunny but still a little bit chilly down by the water, but that didn't stop me from walking in bare feet in the sand even though my feet were frozen afterwards.
After a short walk I came back to coffee and Trish's famous biscuits, oh boy so yummy and she even brought her homemade jams.....we were so lucky and spoiled that's for sure. Official breakfast was at 9 am and it was great, anything you wanted was there to pick from. I sat with the owners again and the lady from Michigan and together with Peter I checked the lottery tickets and guess what....we won nothing, well nothing worse mentioning, one would think of all the numbers we had there would have been a few that matched the chosen numbers, but no such luck. Grrrrrr. To make up for our disappointment some of the Stitching sisters had a surprise for us, seems that some of them were getting together ever so often during the weeks leading up to the retreat to stitch something for us....and we all received a lovely needle book. Thanks girls.
After breakfast some of the girls went shopping in Bayfield. A few of us stayed behind and chose different activities, some stitched but a couple of us decided to go swimming in the salt water pool and then go into the hot tub. OMG I can't remember the last time I went swimming, and it felt so good to be doing that since I love being in the water. Sitting in the hot tub was nice too and we laughed about some shared memories of our times in our hot tub, before hubby decided we don't need it anymore. Now as I am getting older I sure miss the hot tub so much more and wish we still had it. The rest of the morning was spent with stitching and chit chatting and ooo-ing and ah-ing over the items purchased by the girls on their shopping outing. Most of them had purchased purses and a few clothing items, and apparently they had a great time, according to some of the pictures I have seen. One of the girl had also purchased me a present...woo hoo....and omg wait til you see it...it is classic and so me....or so they all thought.....funny...wonder where they got that idea from? Well here it is...a brass donkey bottle opener...I do love my friends with humour though. HA HA HA!
Lunch was served at 1:15 pm and it was again delicious, salads and meat and vegetable lasagna...and of course desert. After lunch I sat outside for a little bit and decided to take more advantage of the location and the weather and went for another walk. I walked along the street, our vacation spot was on, only to come to the end of the street rather quickly. But I spotted a few little steps at the end of the street leading into the woods and so I was off to a very nice trail walk, well more like a little obstacle course but it was so much fun, there were bridges, and steps ups and steps down and lots of things to explore, at the end of the trail I ended back out by the beach, sat there for a while and just watched the water  and decided afterwards to walk along the water for a little bit longer and then return along the beach back to the house. I really enjoyed this little hike and walking back in the water just felt refreshing and relaxing. There are some pics from my little hiking adventure.

Just sitting watching waves
Then it was on to some stitching before dinner, which again was yummy and lovely and we all got a yummy chocolate square from the Forest Stitching Girls. How nice was that. They truly are a nice group of woman and I am looking forward to getting to know them a little bit more. After dinner four of us went for another walk along the road to take in the sights of the other properties of the owners of Brentwood, and wow they
sure know how to spoil their guests. We got home just in time to watch the most gorgeous sunset ever, pictures tomorrow, and went on stitching after that. And to bed just after midnight.

Oh my gosh! That is some beautiful place. I can see why it was so hard to leave. You could explore for weeks.
