On December 15, 2008, City Council approved a new restructured model for the City’s Parks and Recreation Department. It is anticipated that these changes will improve the cost and effectiveness of recreational program delivery in the City of Brantford.
“We have made these changes to our recreation services model in order to better serve the people of Brantford,” said Mayor Mike Hancock.
As a result of the restructuring, responsibilities were realigned resulting in staff reductions.

That is a nice way of saying...we fired two important people that have worked for years at Parks & Rec just nine days before Christmas. crazy!
