The first week

Phew! We made it through the first week of programs, which I personally think is the hardest of them, due to new programs, new kids and new parents. I must say it went quite smoothly, well if it wasn't for one child. Wow does she have a set of lungs and does she know how to use them. Temper tantrums in full flare up, that's what it is. It's hard to see the parents leave when they make the choice to leave the child in our care and it reacts like this, not because we feel like take your kid home, but because we know how it feels too to be on the other side of this fence. Who want s to leave a child when it's like that with strangers, when the best heartfilled feeling is to scoop it up and cuddle it... it is so hard not to give into it. We all been there, and have done it... I had two who would throw a full blown temper tantrum in the middle of the mall if they didn't get what they wanted. Oh the joy of parenthood. In the end they all come out of it by themselves, some sooner than later, but they all do. Otherwise it has been a busy and long week. We ran every day and will continue to run four mornings, which we really haven't done since I started here, so that will be good and maybe we get a few more. Only time will tell. But as for right now, I am glad it's Friday.
