The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada

The DSC is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and protection of abandoned, neglected or abused donkeys, mules and hinnies, the Sanctuary provides these animals a lifelong home.
The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada Farm islocated outside Guelph, Ontario, from Hwy. 401, take Exit # 295 (Hwy.6 NORTH), go north to the second road, Puslinch Concession # 4, turn left and proceed to farm #6981.
It is open to the public on Wednesdays and Sundays, 9-4, from May 1st until Thanksgiving.
The Policy of the DSC is not buy, sell or breed donkeys, mules or hinnies. Sanctuary staff work diligently with humane society inspectors and caring individuals to remove animals at risk from harsh, unjust or life-threatening conditions. Foals are born at the farm only when their mothers are already pregnant upon admission.

You can help the Sanctuary in different ways:
*Donations (It is a non-profit, charitable organization that relies solely on donations from private individuals, foundations and from the annual Donkey Day fundraising event. All money raised is used to cover the costs of caring for our resident animals.)
*become a member
*adopt a donkey plan
*rescue(if you know of a donkey in distress)
*volunteer ( grooming the animals, cleaning, informing visitors etc.)

It is an amazing place, like I said in my earlier blogs, a little bit of heaven on earth for these gentle, cute, and amazing loving animals. I plan on being a part of it for a long long time.
