*Oh man this one totally came out left field, I sure didn't see that coming, I had hoped that one would have enough time to do things on their terms, not be blindsided like that. When I was searched out like that on all ways of communication, I knew it wasn't a good thing. I nervously returned the phone call and I listened to the whole spiel with open ears, I was waiting for the bomb to drop, waiting for my name to come up...but nothing... I knew the person on the other line had a hard time getting her words out, and as I listened I hung on every word...looks like restructuring has yet cost an amazing person her job. What a shame, I have never known anybody who did so much, so effectively with so much pride. Wow this was a shocker and left me speechless for pretty much the rest of Wednesday. Arrrghhh!!!
* What a difference a few days can make, I think I am finally at peace with everything and found closure and got answers to things that had still occupied my mind, now I can put these things to rest too. For all intense purposes, for the first time in a long time, I can be totally myself and be happy about it, nobody I have to please or tread carefully around, out of fear they might get their knickers in a knot. Or listen to their down grading remarks, because they are so perfect and handle everything just perfectly. I still hear the disgust in their voice when I confided in them. Not sure why I felt I could, because I had been burnt many a times, but oh well I did. Oddly enough they were quick to jump on the ban wagon, even though it didn't pertain to them at all. Not sure why one would do that? One should have counted their blessings at that point, I know I would have and not tried to create my own drama just to not feel left out. I would have given anything to be left out of this. It amazes me that people who rely on others so heavily have the nerve to criticize those people, kind of like biting the hand that feeds you. If I expected others to do things for me, I would be darn nice to them, but then I wouldn't expect anything from others to begin with. I might have had a hard time asking for help, but sure don't expect people to do for me...and if there is one thing I have learnt over the last few years is that there is no shame in asking for help and admitting your weaknesses, after all we can't all be good at everything, and most of the time people are eager and willing to help or give advise/ guidance. No one is perfect and I feel bad for those who think they are, because it's like having to wear a mask and having to pretend all the time. It's a very tiring and painful way of being, I know I have been there before, a long time ago, the costs for that are just too high. It's just so much easier and fun to be yourself and being liked for that or not.
*Going between two extremes it's hard to find the middle ground to stay afloat. One extreme, being micromanaged, the other given no direction what so ever. Makes you really wonder how managers become managers and how they actually manage their jobs. Again, it's not rocket science. There is one unpleasantry I still have to handle and I will start by having a meeting with one of our board members, thankfully she is one of us and in her profession she has handled the big wigs on the highest levels, so I am sure we will give it a good effort to pound some sense into people lol..
*Having new wind in my sails I will try to put equal effort in all of my jobs. The objective will be different in each one of them, but I will try to find my trust in humanity again, I have no problem taking care of my donkeys, but people, it's a little bit harder. Having the friends I have it's a good start to liking people again too and I am so blessed to have all these amazing women in my life. I really just haven't given it much thought let alone even a chance.
*There are a few things that have been in my blood for as long as I can remember, things that I always wanted to do, one is doing charity work and the other one is doing things with people from different countries. Strangely enough it has come up the other day in a meeting and it definitely sparked my interest. Being an immigrant myself, even though I hold a Canadian passport now, I still classify myself as an immigrant, because you know as soon as I open my mouth I am not a Canadian....(from the Islands maybe or even Boston, that's what I get a lot lol not really sure why) there are things you just don't understand unless you have been in those shoes. And I am not saying I have been in their shoes, because most immigrants come here to make a better life for themselves, to give their children a better chance at life and that's for sure not one reason I came for nor would I understand what that means for them, especially since there are even more differences for them, like e,g. culture, but I understand what it's like to give up friends, family, familiarity etc, and starting new in a foreign country.Working at the location I have been working at for the last year a lot of immigrant children visit our pre-school programs, and it is just amazing how eager they are to learn the language and how easy it actually is for them at that age. I never forget the little East Indian boy we had last year, omg he stole my heart with his big black eyes and the biggest smile on his face every time he showed up. When he started he didn't speak one word of English but by the end of the session he was the loudest and proudest singer of our good morning song, it was priceless, not sure if he understood every word he belted out, but he sure sang his little heart out. It was such a joy to watch and listen to. So that would definitely be something I would be interested in getting more involved in. I also have added two things to my "Bucket list", both of them require the same things, but are yet as different as night an day. I hope reaching these things before my big 50 in a couple of years, gives me the incentive to work hard at the physical and financial requirements. Well winning the lottery would take care of the financial part, but I still would have to work hard at being fit enough to do them. Wow, just to even think about them....can't even remember the last time I dared or felt like dreaming about things. Things sure had sucked the life out of me.
*My mind still wanders/wonders...too...Funny how one thought triggers another and then another and then another and all of a sudden you are miles away from your original thought, sometimes it comes back to full circle but most of the time it's just out there. I got an email the other day, that made me very happy and I thought to myself...well look at that....nice to be seen that way...then from that thought it went to my dad, to whom I give credit to for all those values and principles that he install in us, by leading by example, from there it went to my dad's funeral and me going home for it, which was a very dramatic event for me, but that's beside the point, nor does anybody really know how I felt about that whole incident, after all it was about my dad and not me getting lost in the shuffle again, from there it went to moving to Canada and it just went on and on and on. Not really sure where I ended up at, but it just always amazes me how that goes, how fast you can go from being happy to depressed or sad, and it's just a thought away. So we should carefully choose our thoughts, as they direct our life in so many ways.

Yesterday and today!
YESTERDAY:
*Called my mom first thing in the morning to wish her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Thought I do it early just because it would be too late to do it after I come home from the DSC. When I called, she told me she had guest and gave one of the guests the phone to say hello to me. Wow, what a nice surprise, I recognized the voice right away, it was my Uncle Peppi, my dad's brother. It was so nice to talk to him and hear his voice and listen all his wise cracks he makes all the time. After a few minutes chatting with him he handed the phone back to my mom and we chatted shortly and I said I would call her later during the week to chat longer. Funny too, I sent my present to her last week Monday and she got it last week Thursday, far cry from getting her Christmas present last year, that I sent three weeks prior and ended up getting there at the end of January. Maybe we should have Christmas in July with the overseas family. lol.
*What a hot and sticky day at the Farm. Omg it was horrible, after fifteen minutes of getting there I was already soaking wet from the humidity and all your clothes just stuck to you, I hate that feeling. I brought Adam a little present lol....well more for the Donkeys but for his sake too lol....I heard them complain last Sunday how horrible the smell of lavender scented epson salt with apple cider vinegar was, but that's all they could find at that time, so I brought him two huge containers of plain epson salt and he was delighted as that will make his job of soaking hoofs much more pleasant, and of course I brought two bags of carrots for the donkeys. I never go there without carrots lol....even my lunch is loaded with carrots, that I never eat and only take as lunch to spoil those cuties.
*Odin was being a little brat while I was cleaning up the garden paddock.Just minutes before I arrived at the DSC they had a five minute downpour and Odin was soaking wet and decided to roll in the sand pile, that was oddly enough under trees and fairly dry, well Odin rolled and rolled and as the white donkey stood up, there was not a speck of white on him and he decided he would get cuddly with me....I don't think so little buddy, as I had to work in the boutique later on. But he was not giving up that easily and it took some maneuvering on my part to get away from him. He is such a little boy still.
*We had over 155 visitors yesterday and lot of people from other countries. I had a cute encounter with a four year old boy at the boutique that just was too cute. His mother let him choose one of the toys from the boutique and he chose one of the SCHLEICH donkeys, well actually he convinced his mother that he needed two because it is not good for donkeys to be alone. Good point there! So after he picked two of the same kind, I showed him the other one that was a little bit different but the same price, but after just a look at the other figurine he said "no thank you, I want both of them look in the same direction, so they can always see each other"....ok another good point and in my work at the preschool I have learnt you don't argue with a four year old lol. He was bound to get these two same donkeys, his mother still was not really to thrilled about it, and asked him to please not make the donkeys dinosaur food at home, and he said, no no no no, dinosaurs have other dinosaurs to eat at home lol...ok...good point again. As he was sitting on the floor in the boutique and playing with his donkeys, I found out in conversation with his mom that he has a whole bunch of the same donkeys at home already, and I said oh he is working on a herd isn't he...and she just laughed. I asked the little boy what he would name those two donkeys and without hesitation he said "Odin" and "Summer". Funny that he picked the youngest and the oldest donkey on the farm. He definitely pays attention when he is here to what is said about the donkeys, and that is wonderful. He and his mother stayed for a good while and he even sat quietly through the whole donkey talk with Kim, that takes good 20 to 30 minutes. Kids like that amaze me all the time.
*Spent some special time with Danny after work as it was going to be his last day at the DSC. Poor little guy. He is so loved there and such a spokes donkey for the DSC. He will be sadly missed by us all.
TODAY:
*I will stay close to my email and wait for word from the DSC about Danny's fate. Makes me so sad again.
*I definitely want to finish my "singing donkey" today and start a short little project for one of my friends, as a surprise, so I won't write too much about it and definitely won't post any progress on it.
*Definitely trying to take it easy today too, to give my food a rest. Taping it up every day has given me some relief, but as soon as I don't do it, the pain is just enormous and sometimes I can barely put any weight on it. But oh well!
*Had fun with my Squirrel friends in the backyard already this morning. As I was opening the blinds in the living room I saw them taking of into the direction of the neighbour's garden, but as they saw the blinds opening they just stood there and returned back to the deck, once I got around to the kitchen blinds at the back door, they were all standing there waiting. And the cats were sitting on the other side of the window pouncing....well that's why you are inside and they are outside....or something like that!
*Tonight is one of my meetings and well we will see if there has been made any progress....hopefully I am back on the right track and not let my emotions control me.
Hope everybody has a great day and is ready for whatever the day will bring you. Ready or not...here it comes!

Laundry, appointments, visits, and some stitching
I had a great day yesterday, for some reason the day seemed longer than other days, maybe because I am still getting up at 5:30 am even though there really is no need to do though, as my daughter is done school for the summer and I am done working my day shifts. My daughter chooses to sleep in most of the days, one sone is off to work by 6 am, the AH is out of the house by 7:30 am and the other son leaves by 8:30am, so I have pretty much peace and quiet all day long. I work out and am usually showered and dressed by 7 am, and then I do whatever needs to be done.I did lots of laundry yesterday and was surprised that it was only 9 am by the time I was finished, seemed to me like I was doing laundry that much longer. So I had about 1 1/2 hrs til my appointment at 11 am and I spent that time with surfing the web,a little bit of online shopping while supporting my favourite charities, sending emails and making some phone calls and appointments, which I had been procrastinated to do for a long time. So I felt good about that....went to my appointment, which went well, nothing that wasn't expected happened, some slight changes are in order but it was left to my discretion to deal with it....hmmm...you know how that will work out lol. After that I decided to pick up a tea and coffee and pay a long overdue visit to a friend and her granddaughter. Omg I haven't seen the little girl in a while and what a sweetie she is, I had gotten her a t-shirt from the DSC boutitque and a stuffed animal, of course a donkey, and she totally loved it and was hugging it and caring it around the whole time I was there. When I got home I it was time to take my daughter to work, do some grocery shopping and finally make dinner. I even sat down to finally watch my Robin Williams live DVD, that I got a few months ago. Oh how I love Robin Williams. There are so many movies I want to watch and that I actually own, but somehow I don't have the nerve all the time to sit and just watch a movie, I really have to be in the mood for that. Oh and I got some stitching in too. After having finally finished the "Cat Lessons" this past Saturday, I have started the two donkey heads, right now you can't tell what it is suppose to be, so no need to post a picture yet lol....but here are the finished "Cat Lessons"....well still needs to be stretched and framed.
