Where are the donkeys?
The other day my blogger friend Cindy asked about what your favourite scent is, the scent that brings a smile to your face and floods you with good memories. Of course my answer was the barn smell, in particular donkey barn. ( I have been on a pig farm a few times and boy nothing worse than that, even though pigs are so cute and adorable). Of course everybody in my household complains about the barn smell that I bring with me at times, but I don't care, I love it. I love the fact that when I go into the garage it smells like I am hiding a few donkeys in there, and all that because of a pair of smelly boots. My daughter hates driving in the Jeep with me, if I forget to take my boots out before hand. When I come home from a day in the farm I am suppose to strip down to my underwear and bra in the basement, though I won't bring the smell into the house, nobody wants to get their clothes washed in with my barn clothes and everybody keeps their distance from me...which just works fine for me at times lol. My bags all smell like barn, my gloves smell like petted donkeys and that makes me happy. The other day, omg I almost killed myself laughing, when I felt my "barn"gloves on the passenger seat and Pookie didn't see them when she got in and sat on them, of course when she got out of the car she noticed them and almost had a fit lol, omg she was just disgusted that she would smell like donkey poop for the rest of the day in class...what she think I muck out stall by hand? lol Silly girl. The other day I dared and brought the boots into the basement to put on the heater, since they were soaking wet and after a week in the garage still were wet, but of course as soon as the boots warmed up and dried it released the barn smell even more, omg f*** `em if they can't take a joke. My boots were dry within the day and back out in the garage, but the smell lingered for a little longer. AHHHHHHH!!!!!! I love donkey smell and who doesn't, has never really hugged a donkey and just inhaled the sweet scent of their being.

It's just as much fun to stop at the grocery store on your way home from the barn and have all of the people looking at you like you are something just a little sub-human.
Oh I know Louise lol...I have cleared some lines at the cash out too lol....and I look like heck with a smile, because I really do work hard and it shows everywhere lol.
Laughing at the thought of your family's horror at the smell! They need to hug a few donkeys! Fall in love with God's blessed creatures.
Yep....I have stunk a few people away in my days too, lol! I am still laughing thinking about it!
Melody - lmao at stunk away a few people, that's too funny but yet so effective lol.
I think the smell of donkey is, without a doubt, the BEST smell in the world. Even on my clothes later, when the scent perhaps begins to get a bit "sour", shall we say, I still inhale it deeply. It reminds me of the calm I felt earlier in the day when my precious boys were by my side.
I love that you adore this smell, too.
:-)
It's like you said Danni, the BEST smell in the world.
There's nothing better than hugging a donkey. And the smell -- so great!
