...to hopefully a long and happy life at the DSC. I hope and pray it's not too late for Oscar. How can people let this happen? I just don't understand this, makes me just want to cry. But what a sweet face he has.... He will be our oldest male...30 years old. Poor poor baby.

He's beautiful, he has a softness and trust in his eyes still after all he's been through. I'm glad he's found a safe haven now. I can't stand that people neglect their animals like this, how cruel.
Oh my ! That is terrible! I am so glad he found his way to your rescue !
can you repair his feet so he can walk better. OMG that is awful to see his feet this way. Please do something.
I have never seen hoofs grow that long, thank God he has you!
He is beautiful! Please keep us updated on his condition... it just makes you want to cry that his hooves were left uncared for.
I just hope he is not too far gone already. His hooves were trimmed yesterday, and will now be trimmed weekly to get the right angle of normal hooves worked out. Oscar was pretty sore today from having to relearn how to walk with normal hooves, his hind legs are really tucked under his bum, which is not a good sign. His front hooves were actually curled up so much that they were cutting into his leg and he had open sores. Now it's hoping for xrays that show no damage to the bone inside the hooves. There were many hidden abscesses found while trimming away at the hooves. Poor baby, the pain he must have been in. He spend most of his time laying down today, but was alert and curious towards his surrounds and even brayed at the other donkeys. I so hope for good news from the xrays, but also know that the chances are slim after living for 10 years like this. Please send your good and healing thoughts for Oscar.
