On opposite sides of the fence

These are the ongoings on their side of the fence..... Cocoa,Hershey and some of their buddies.

As for us on the other side of the fence, it was a busy day for all the volunteers that helped out all day getting the "Eastside" formerly known as the "darkside"*prepared for new stall bedding. So there was dirt and peatmoss to be moved by the truck loads. I didn't get there until 1pm as I worked in the morning and my job is still to work on the office project, seems to be coming along nicely and by next week I should be half way done. Woo hoo. Next week I will have a hard task ahead of me before sitting in front of the computer for the rest of the day....NOT... I have to take appropriate pictures of some of the donkeys I have been working on so far.
Being in the office and having heat and looking at nothing but donkey pictures is a lot of fun, but at the same time I am missing my one on one time with my furry friends, as I didn't get to go down to the barn at all on Wednesday and I haven't really groomed a donkey in donkey years. I mean I could probably come up on another day too and have donkey time, but so far it's been a little bit of a task to find that time, so I was glad to hear that they want me to come back out on Sundays as we have tons of new volunteers starting and they want some more seasoned volunteers on hand, since the only staff on duty on Sundays is our student. She is doing an absolutely amazing job but has her hands full with the care of the animals, so that she really doesn't have time to deal with the new volunteers,so that's were Helia, Sheri and I come in. I kind of find it very funny that I am classified as a seasoned volunteer. Given I know a lot, because I have occupied my time with learning about the donkeys and the organization over the last few years, but as far as volunteering goes it's been less than a year. So go figure! But it will be fun, because it's always great when you are among like minded people who share the same interest in and care for these amazing animals.

* The name of the dark side was changed to East side, since some of the people thought it had a negative ring to it, well but it also has a humerous ring to it too, and it is so true, it is dark over there on that part of the barn, but I guess the "darkside" was taken by people more in the "Star wars" context in humour and we always got a chuckle out of it when we said we are going to the dark side. Funny thing happened...some new volunteer called it the "evil"side the other day instead of the darkside lol....I guess it was time for a name change....lol.

Evil side, LOL! Yes, time for a name change! Sorry couldn't watch the clips, raining here and amazed that the net is even working (slow - but still working!).
You probably know about 3 years worth, but you can't count the actual short time, you've been there! You're one sharp cookie when it comes to the donkeys! Have a great day!
