PEOPLE WHO ARE VIOLENT TO ANIMALS RARELY STOP THERE!

Fri, Sat, Sun!

Friday's low down:
*first day back to  work for the preschool programs. It's a class full of only girls, looked like a nice and calm morning...not...but that's ok it will get better after the first couple of weeks. At least we didn't have any criers, that makes it so much easier. Sure was fun to be back with the little ones, and they all seem to be eager to get into some crafts, games, songs and making new friends.
*in the afternoon I went for a drive down to the lake. It was so pretty, the sky was filled with Monarch butterflies, as they were gathering for their migration flight down to Mexico. I have heard of this event happening but it's the first time I have actually seen it, and boy it sure was pretty and amazing to watch.
*the time with J., well it sure wasn't so pretty. I went there with nothing really on my mind, we talked about the events of the week, any up coming events and of course once you get me started on there it seems to take on a life of it's own and things just flow out without a thought, that is exhausting, well emotionally at least. Funny how I come up with the topics each time out of the blue, so obviously it's underlining some things in my subconsciousness that eventually needs to come out...and boy it sure came out...., makes me kind of mad that it still bothers me and I just  don't seem to be able to get over it. Sure made me realize why I have such a hard time at times. And it sure shows you to choose your friends wisely and maybe  some re- evaluations  of current friendships/relationships are in order. Amazing how life experiences shape your present and if you don't deal with it, repeat in your future. Arrrrgggghhhhh! So needless to say I left there with a lot on my mind, not that I need anymore of that right now as I am totally overwhelmed by some other things going on. Once again just trying to stay afloat.
*I was suppose to meet with a friend in the evening but I chose to stay home and mope lol...

Lazy Saturday:
*I pretty much did nothing all Saturday but wait for time to pass to go to work in the later part of the afternoon. To help pass the time I started a new cross stitch picture, what the heck is that all about...I only have like five on the go, one that is close to being finished, so why did I have to start a new one? I swear I don't function right at times......I get so bored with doing one thing, but then doing more than one thing stresses me out...go figure. So I started my Kitty Cat Row, it's really cute, simple and fairly fast. I got half of it done before I left for work.

*work was ok, loud and full of energy as 20 5 years took over the building. So much for quiet office time at work lol...I was glad when it was all over and I could go back to the comfort of my couch and just take it easy....not really sure what that is all about.

Busy Sunday:
What a beautiful day weather wise, the sun was shining, it was a little bit chilly in the morning but warmed up to a nice enjoyable day. My first chore at the DSC was to clean the Garden Paddock. Then I cleaned the lane way and the barnyard. I watched Steph take the "jail birds" into the Garden Paddock, to lock them up in there for the day. Eeyore was giving her  a hard time, he thought he outsmart her and walk backwards, he didn't realize that he could walk like that up to the paddock too. And kind of looked surprised when he was in it lol...it was cute. I cleaned the Mules Motel and their paddock as all of them were way out in the fields, and well when I came back out of the Motel, they are all there....crap....I don't feel comfortable around the mules yet, not sure why, probably because I really haven't spent much time with them yet, except the odd feeding and a pet over the fence. From the mule's paddock I snug back into the Garden paddock to clean up what the six donkeys had deposited there in that short little while they had been in there already. Juno came over for a little brush and I actually could hug her today, and she just stood there. So that made me happy.
The visitors today were a little bid odd, not sure why but seemed like the world's most ignorant people I have ever met where descending on the DSC today. As I was working in the Garden Paddock, a father sat his 2 year old daughter on the top of the fence with her legs dangling into the paddock, I went over to talk to him and advised him nicely that that is not a good idea because the donkeys might just walk over and bit her little legs, thinking it was food or whatever. So he bitched at me for that and said well there are just too many rules here, you can't do that, you can't do this and he went on and on and I just said that it's for safety reason and because the animals are here to retire not to be worked and used for any of our pleasures and I walked away and continued my chores, about a minute later I hear this woman, his wife, yell, " oh he got my sleeve" and sure enough there was Eeyore, who likes to nip, and check things out with his lip, with a firm bite on her coat sleeve and he wasn't letting go, the more she pulled, the more he pulled and she was just beside herself, so I went over put my fingers inside of Eeyore's mouth and squeezed and he let go immediately...the stunned husband could only  mumble the words..."I guess they can bite" well I had to bite my tongue and just walked away, never even asked if her coat got wrecked, I couldn't care less at that point. Thankfully they  moved on and I didn't deal with them again. Talking to other volunteers throughout the day it seems like they had similar experiences with people all around today. Must have been something in the air, I don't know.
Well amongst all the "idiot"today, there were a few nice people with whom I had some interesting conversations, those are my favourite people to deal with day in and out, people who come there to learn and watch. I just found that some people are just totally irresponsible when it comes to the care of their kids when they are on our grounds, more interesting in taking pictures instead of keeping track of their kids. Drives me crazy.
At the end of the day we had a visit from two older ladies with their walkers and because they couldn't make it all the way down to the barn, we decided to bring some donkeys up to them. So I haltered Pansy, and what I thought was Poppy, well the Poppy  I picked wasn't moving at all, well maybe because it wasn't Poppy at all but Sable, and Sable only moves when Poppy moves, so once I got the donkeys all sorted out, it was smooth sailing from then onward and even Sable joined us in our walk up to the gate, The two ladies were delighted and had stories to tell of their donkeys. The older lady was 93 and the other lady was her baby sister with 88. They were adorable and they sure looked great, maybe not as mobile as they used to be, but sure didn't look their age.  They stayed for a while and then it was  time to close the DSC for the day. And all the donkeys were happy to have peace and quiet once again for the rest of the day.
I got to feed Panne some Peppermints and he was going nuts about it. Panne, who is our biggest donkey is such a cute goof ball, I love it when he puts his head to the side, his ears forward and just looks at you like he wants to say "don't you have anything for me?" He is just cute.
I gave some donkey hugs to Cocoa as he was being the centre of attention today and some of us really think he should be out on the other side for Open Days, as he loves the attention.
I spent some time at the feeder with Juno because I had promised her an apple at the end of the day for being such a good girl during brushing.
Odin was more interested in my water bottle and kept trying to drink from it, he followed me all the way up to the gate trying to get a sip out of it, then he stopped, flapped his lips at me and smiled. Oh he is such a cutie and such a nosey little donkey boy.

Preschool? You must have a boatload of patience!
Um, staying home and moping? Did it help?
You cross stitch so fast! Yah, I get tired of projects fairly quick myself, my hooked rug is still under the bed............
Beautiful butterfly sighting! I have never seen the Monarchs en mass!
No, parents don't watch their kids anymore - thorn in my side.

Oh, I would love to see all of those Monarchs. What a blessing that must have been.

I'm sorry, but I'm just evil enough that I would have loved to have seen that woman, with her coat in Eeyore's mouth. I give you tons of credit for keeping the laughter out of your face.

I wonder if there is anything clinically improper with having 5 or 6 projects on the go??? Maybe I should look into that. Cat's are coming along quickly and how cute.
Be always in stitches.

Sharon- well my patience is running very thin lately, moping usually helps, I occasionally do feel sorry for myself, because if I don't, who will? I get bored so fast with things like that. I am constantly going from one thing to the other, and nothing really ever gets done....arrrggghhhh! Parents not watching kids or not even thinking they are responsible for their kids drives me insane, totally insane.
Louise-trust me it was so hard to bite my tongue and not say anything snarly to them. Sometimes people really do get what they deserve and more.
Denise- Thanks, for the good luck wishes and for stopping by here.
Jayne-not long as fast as all your things....haven't touched it since Saturday, well just another one to be finished one day.

That is too bad about the visitors. It really bothers me when people come to a place that cares for animals and expect to be able to do what ever they want. Especially with children. I think a lot of them think they should be able to take their kids to places and not have to care for them because they will be "entertained".

I'm glad that Eeyore set them straight, lol
