Christmas Day

How the times change, it was total role reversal, we used to have to get up so early for Christmas morning because the kids were up at the crack of dawn, well this year we had to wait for the kids to get up and it was almost 12:30 when we finally got to open our presents. The turkey had been in the oven for three hours already when the kids finally made an appearance. Even the way of opening the presents had changed, from ripping off the paper and getting to the next without ever really checking what was in it, to know carefully opening the packages and checking everything out. Pookie was in her glory since she got spoiled by her brothers, the smile on her face was undeniable. Everybody received nice presents and was happy with what they got.
In the early afternoon the in-laws and Alex's girlfriend arrived in time for dinner. I must say, dinner was excellent, even though I was the cook lol....Everybody enjoyed themselves and besides the turkey we felt stuffed too, I think I even was in sugar shock after not holding back on scarfing down some major sweets.....how comes when you eat 100g of chocolate you gain 5 pounds? Well I am sure I had more than a 100g anyway.....
After the in-laws left we all sat down to watch a movie, but some of us just dozed off and caught a few zzzzzzzzzzs. I was glad when it was finally time to go to bed.
All in all it was a very nice and peaceful day.
